SMH!! Really a World of Surprises..... baby starved to death while parents were playing fantasy games

BY Ken
South Korean police have arrested a couple for starving their three-month-old daughter to death while they devoted hours to playing a computer game that involved raising a virtual character of a young girl.
The 41-year-old man and 25-year-old woman, who met through a chat website, reportedly left their infant unattended while they went to internet cafes. They only occasionally dropped by to feed her powdered milk.
"I am sorry for what I did and hope that my daughter does not suffer any more in heaven," the husband is quoted as saying on the asiaone website.
According to the Yonhap news agency, South Korean police said the couple had become obsessed with raising a virtual girl called Anima in the popular role-playing game Prius Online. The game, similar to Second Life, allows players to create another existence for themselves in a virtual world, including getting a job, interacting with other users and earning an extra avatar to nurture once they reach a certain level.
"The couple seemed to have lost their will to live a normal life because they didn't have jobs and gave birth to a premature baby," Chung Jin-Won, a police officer, told Yonhap. "They indulged themselves in the online game of raising a virtual character so as to escape from reality, which led to the death of their real baby."
Last September after a 12-hour gaming-session the couple came home in the morning to find their daughter dead. The baby's malnourished body aroused police suspicions of neglect that were was confirmed after an autopsy.
The couple fled to the wife's parents' house in Yangju, Gyeonggi province, but were picked up on Monday. The case has shocked South Korea and once again highlighted obsessive behaviour related to the internet.
A 22-year-old Korean man was charged last month with murdering his mother because she nagged him for spending too much time playing games. After killing her the man went to a nearby internet cafe and continued with his game, said officials. In 2005 a young man collapsed in an internet cafe in the city of Taegu after playing the game StarCraft almost continuously for 50 hours. He went into cardiac arrest and died at a local hospital.

Mystery naval explosion may have stinky solutionPolice had initially been called to the apartment building by neighbours who had not seen the couple in some time and wondered about their welfare. Police called in the fire department because of the stench and the team that entered wore hazardous materials suits.

An 83-year-old neighbour, Hattie Fields, said the couple had lived in the building for years. Police declined to identify the couple.

Rock music - pop music?

Please just get this before it's too late. There's a difference between popular music and pop music. Popular music is not a genre but consist of many. It is a term for music of all ages that appeals to popular tastes.

Pop music is a genre in itself and is often oriented towards a youth market, usually consisting of short and simple love songs. Pop music has gotten influences from most other forms of popular music, but as a genre its associated with the rock and roll and later rock style.

I found this on a random website. And I must admit that I agree to some of it:

"I hate pop. I hate the stars, the composers, the writers but most of the entire concept itself. Pop is manufactured for the not so discerning ear and not quite intellectual mind and every time I hear even one beat I shudder. Shudder, for I fear each stray note will somehow infest in my mind and slowly eat me away.
But enough of that, pop music sucks as does everyone who listens to it so if you like pop you won't really like my site."

My bands

At the moment I am playing in two bands aswell as making music with a fresh DJ. I'm not really into making the electronics kind of music, but I do everything to improve my skills within music.

Tweed
Tweed is my first band and was formed by Fredrik (in class) and I for about a year and a half ago. We are now four people consisting of Fredrik on drums, Andreas on vocals and keys, David on bass, and myself on guitar and some backup-vocals. I can define the genre as psychedelic hard-rock. We havn't yet played any conserts, but are really looking forward to promote our music, and maybe get it recorded in a studio.

Obscure Vision
Obscure Vision has gotten abit further than Tweed. We have played some conserts and are gonna play more this summer. We've also been to a studio, and plan to record more. It consists of Leif, Sondre, Sindre and I. We're more of an alternative rock band. Leif has a blog of this band, I don't know what he has written, but I think we're doing well and we're getting better. Hopefully someday someone will sing our song out there. Wow: Six-year-old saved from dropping to his death by his EARS

By Ken

Ming Ming, managed to get his head stuck in the bars of his home in Yichang, China.
But rather than fall through completely, he became lodged between the grate due to his ears sticking out.
The boy is believed to have woken up alone after his grandfather left his home temporarily to run an errand. When he woke up, he is then thought to have fallen from the window while looking for his grandfather.
Crowds gathered after hearing the boy screaming and rescuers were able to save him. Firefighters were able to use a hydraulic pressure expander to force the bars apart and pull him back into his apartment.
Wow, What can these be called? Gracious God.
